EUROPEAN IMPACT DAY 2023
Impact Day 2023, a space for genuine commitment that will drive
sustainable growth resilience of EOers businesses.
The Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO) has announced its pledge to support the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that include 17 goals and 169 targets to wipe out poverty, fight inequality and tackle climate change by 2030. EO's pledge to support the SDGs further bolsters its commitment to social entrepreneurship and provides opportunities to impact the world among its global community of entrepreneurs. This pledge was announced at a commemorative event held at the UN General Assembly's main plaza during the 72nd session of the General Assembly.
Addressing those SDG’s are the biggest challenge that society will be facing in the next 10 years. I truly believe that Entrepreneurs can be at the forefront in addressing those challenges through their businesses and their leadership. We will gather to further promote this movement towards conscious capitalism as it needs to work for the whole of society not just a select few. I look forward to welcoming you in London to engage, learn and party with your fellow entrepreneurs at the Hoxton in trendy Shoreditch afterwards

A CALL TO ACTION FOR EO ENTREPRENEURS
According to the 2022 Trust Barometer by Edelman “business must now be the stabilising force for delivering tangible action and results on society's most critical issues” such as social inequality, climate change, skills gap, human rights and biodiversity.
Given the scale of the accelerating crises we face, we need a movement to change the way business is done and the world is demanding that the private sector steps up. It is getting clearer that doing less harm, or incremental change, is not enough. The only way to stay relevant today is to generate positive impact through our products, services and influence but also by maximising benefits for employees, consumers, customers, suppliers, communities and other stakeholders.
Being an impactful business today is a source of differentiation and reputation in a market filled with competitors and no business should ignore the requirement to apply its principles and practices by design, whether it is to build confidence with customers, hire the best talent, raise capital to scale up and contribute to solve global wicked challenges.
Entrepreneurs are uniquely positioned to be a genuine force for societal transformation. They can innovate faster and leaner by building safe to fail experiments and scaling up what works.
There is no straightforward way for entrepreneurs alone to approach most problems we are facing today. Entrepreneurs can take bold steps and shape the ecosystem they operate by partnering with other businesses, suppliers, startups, industry associations, social organisations, universities and governments to advance with the impact agenda.
