EO Helped Me Realise My Dreams

Having spent the better part of the decade working for corporations, in 2013 I realised I took 280 flights a year and saw my family just once a month.

I knew there was a better way to grow a business and provide my team with flexibility and growth opportunities without sacrificing our personal lives. The following year, I started a company, which I can run from a boat in the middle of the ocean if I wanted to. While I am not quite there yet, I find myself getting closer with the help of EO.

With a background in sales and product development in digital marketing, I spent many years travelling across the globe to meet with clients. Fast forward seven years, I now own Goodman Lantern, a 100% remotely-run business providing companies with content to help them sell better and grow faster. I can travel the world as I manage my business. Not only that, I can do it with a newborn. So far, my family and I have travelled to Nepal, Eastern Europe, Thailand and plan to visit Malaysia and the Philippines soon.

Since joining EO in 2019, I found myself surrounded by a network of inspiring, motivated entrepreneurs. With colleagues spread across the globe, running a remote company can get lonely. I found this to be one of the more challenging parts of running a company. However, having access to this network has helped me find a community to engage with frequently.

One of my favourite things about EO is being a part of a forum. This allows me to interact with like-minded people who are also running and growing their businesses. It's incredibly valuable to have a platform where we can share challenges and find solutions together. I made connections with entrepreneurs, who helped me improve my own business style and what Goodman Lantern was offering.

Through my travels, I met several EO members and making contact with people from different backgrounds and with different perspectives proved invaluable. I built global connections that changed the way I manage Goodman Lantern. It's a powerful network to have, and every member is committed to growing their own business and helping each other.

EO helped me discover my mission - my Big Hairy Audacious Goal, or BHAG as I like to call it. By working with my team and consistently engaging in the forum, I could pinpoint my company's mission. We aim to create consistent, reliable, and fair income opportunities for women and promote women in tech.

With over 14,000 members across the globe, there are so many opportunities to engage with entrepreneurs from all walks of life. No matter where you are in the world, you can find someone to reach out to and connect with.

For this reason, I am proud to say I've become quite an advocate for EO. I am incredibly grateful to EO for the opportunities for networking and expansion it has provided me. EO did more than just change my business; I believe it changed my personal life too. My mindset has changed, and this has positively impacted the way I interact with people in my life, colleagues, and fellow entrepreneurs.

As a business owner, I cannot recommend EO enough. Whether you are a start-up or struggling to scale your business, EO is a wonderful resource. Being a member has helped me completely transform Goodman Lantern, and I am proud of the company I run today. I only see further growth with all the tools I've learned and the exceptional individuals I have met.

Working remotely is hard, and being isolated is even harder. The good news is that you are not alone. Many entrepreneurs worldwide have a similar experience, and coming together through a network like EO is a great way to learn and grow.
